Thale

Today I just wanted to report a little bit back about the biking season, since this blog was ment to be about mountain biking in the first place.

Well the season kicked off with Dirt Masters Winterberg. In the seeding run I think I bagged 3rd place but sadly couldnt hold onto it in the final and dropped down to 4th. Winterberg was a cool race though, I really tried to lower my time, added in a pretty cool double out of a bend and a nasty drop.

The next race was Willingen, which I also enjoyed because of all the jumps. I think in the qualification I was 4th and in the final I managed to move up to 3rd. I got to stand on the podium with Antje and Claire Buchar!

Then came Rittershausen. Ahh Rittershausen, exacly like Winterberg with the positionings, I wasnt too happy about that, but Im the one to blame for that. This race I really realized how bad my fitness was.

And just 2 weekends ago, Thale. I liked Thale, the race was really organized, people were really nice and I got to train with a fellow 77designz FEMALE "team rider friend!" Ok but I rode really bad, this time however I think I can partly blame the bike. I decided to ride a Votec VFR, one of the first ones, the bike doesnt belong to me and I didnt change any of the settings meaning the suspesion was HARD. Which was mostly a postivite thing on that course, except for the breakwaves. However this wasnt the only problem the bike had. 5 mins before my start time, I had already taken the lift up and was waiting to be called, I realized my shifter didnt work. I couldnt change down and I was in the easiest gear. Damn, this was not a good course for that to happen, the course was fast and there were some fast flat parts where you really needed the harder gears. So I had to cruse into 8th place. Heres a picture though of me, probably in training on the VFR, despite all the problems though I LOVE THIS BIKE (more to come on that though)

Well that was the race season. Its over now and I guess Im pretty glad. I get back to you about the more interesting biking things which happened between!
